Local tourists flock to PutaO’s popular, snow-capped mountain destinations

In addition to climbing trips to the snow-capped mountains of Kachin State, PutaO’s popular destinations are also attracting more and more visitors from around the country, including from Yangon and Mandalay, said Ko Moe Min Thein (PutaO) from Trekking in Myanmar Travel and Snow-capped Mountain Transport Service.

Overall, he said there are loads of visits to well-known tourist attraction sites, but climbing trips are still few.

“Currently, the majority of visitors are locals. Visitors from Yangon and Mandalay have been visiting prominent destinations since November. Visitors from Lashio and Muse came to take climbing trips to snow-capped mountains,” said Moe Min Thein (PutaO).

A three-night, four-day trip to PutaO, Kachin State, includes a tour of the ancient Maha Muni Buddha Image, which is cast in gold and bronze, Mount Khakaborazi National Park Museum, Malikha River that separates PutaO and Machanbaw and river crossing suspension bridges, heart-shaped lake, countryside natural beauty, orchards and crop fields and morning sea cloud view, as well as exploring traditions of indigenous people.
