Kyaikmaraw, 4 August
Some houses in low-lying wards in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State have been inundated by floodwaters from the Attayan River.
Some residents from flooded wards moved to safer locations because they worry about possible inundation as they suffered from severe floods in August 2018. The township disaster management committee conducted flood protection tasks as the region was hit heavy rains triggered by strong winds.
The committee warned of local people not to be overcautious about floods, conducted awareness talks and distributed educative pamphlets about natural disasters.—Cho Myat Myat Htwe
