Man burned to death in Taunggyi

A man has died in a fire in Kanaut Ward, Taunggyi, the capital city of Shan State, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.

         

The fire broke out at a house of a woman named Daw Khin Thidar, 54, from Kanaut Ward in Taunggyi at about 11:20 a.m. on 7 January. The fire is believed to have started from an overheated electrical shock while she was cooking in the kitchen by using an electric pan, resulting in the killing of her younger brother identified as Thet Wai, 40.

         

The blaze torched one house but was completely extinguished a few minutes later. The house owner is being questioned over fire negligence by the local police.—MOHA
