Mawlamyine Strand Walking Street to be launched tomorrow

Mawlamyine 17 January

A ceremony to launch Mawlamyine Strand Walking Street featuring ethnic cultural shows performed by different ethnic groups is going to be held on a grand scale in Mon State’s capital Mawlamyine at 4 pm on 18 January.

At the ceremony, the cultural show including Mon, Kayin and Pa’O ethnic people’s traditional cultural dance and music will be staged.

Over 100 booths will be displayed at the event and local and foreign visitors can purchase souvenirs, traditional costumes, local products and foods at one place. In addition, there will be a parking for the visitors’ vehicles and dustbins for keeping the street clean.

In addition, there will be benches for merrymakers to relax their physical and mental pressure and enjoy the beautiful sunset of Mawlamyine. Arrangements are also being made to arrange a sightseeing tour along the Thanlwin River by riding pony carts.
