MDY Region Consumer Affairs Department receives nearly 250 complaints in 2019-2020FY

Mandalay Region Consumer Affairs Department received nearly 250 consumer complaints in the 2019-2020 financial year, with over 100 complaints regarding service, said U Zaw Min, head of Mandalay Region Consumer Affairs Department.


The department received the most complaints in the FY2019-2020 compared with the previous years. Over 30 complaints in the FY2016-2017, over 40 in the FY2017-2018 and nearly 200 in the FY2018-2019 were reported, accumulating a total of 500 complaints. The department has already handled the complaints in each FY. For the last FY2019-2020, only 11 cases are left to be solved, said U Zaw Min. Of about 250 reports filed by the consumers, over 100 are related to service. The consumers are dissatisfied with the service provided in the telecommunication, online shop and electricity sectors. Consumers filed the majority of the complaints in Mandalay district and Yamethin District department received the least complaint, he continued.
