The second Dharmayatra pilgrimage of Members of Sangha from five Mekong nations – Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos – concluded in Cambodia.
A ceremony to conclude the Dharma journey was held yesterday at Phokeethra Ballroom, Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf and Spa Siem Reap in Cambodia.
The ceremony was attended by Cambodia Sangha Nayaka Committee Chairman Sayadaw and Members of Sangha, Members of Sangha from five Mekong countries, officials from Cambodia and Thailand, and Myanmar Theravada Buddhist Federation and Border Areas and Hill Region Sasana Nuggaha Association (Central) Chairman Wunna Kyaw Htin Dr Khin Shwe and members.
At the event, Bodhi trees were planted and a Pindacara (the programme of monks going on alms-round) was also grandly organized.
The grand opening ceremony of the Dharma journey, which brought together 470 Members of Sangha from five Mekong nations, was held in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, on 15 October.
On 16 and 17 October, the Bodhi trees carried from Bodh Gaya were planted and Pindacara programmes were also organized in Tachilek and Kengtung townships.
The Dharmayatra pilgrimage was jointly organized by Border Areas and Hill Region Sasana Nuggaha Association (Central) Chairman and Thailand-based Bodhigayavijjalaya 980 Institute.
