The local police arrested five men for allegedly betting on a cockfight in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region on 6 October.
A combined squad based on anonymous tipoff went to a rest house near cemetery where a cockfight took place in MaU Village, Monya and captured five men in connection with betting on a cockfight. Other men who were involved in the cockfight fled the scene when the police arrived.
The police also seized two cocks, 44 different types of motorcycles, one bicycle and Ks. 220,000 at the scene. The cockfight bettors have been charged under the Myanmar Gambling Law by the local police station.
