Merchants allowed to sell amber at Mandalay Yadana Mall free of charge

3 March

Merchants have been allowed to sell amber jewelry and products at the Mandalay Yadana Mall, free of charge, from this month, according to merchants.

The move is aimed at helping amber products made in Taning Township, Kachin State, penetrate the gems market and to allow foreign merchants to purchase them at a reasonable price.

Ruby and sapphire produced in Mogok, a town in Mandalay, are on sale at the international gems market at the Mandalay Yadana Mall, which is held every Month, from the 3rd to the 7th day of the first week.

The market is teeming with local and foreign gem lovers. A wide variety of finished gem products with different designs are being sold every day. In addition, finished jade chains, jade beads, and jade sculptures are also being sold in a bid to help develop the market.—Maung Pyi Thu (Mandalay) (Translated by Khaing Thanda Lwin)
