Ministries’ sports meet commemorating Union Day held

IN commemoration of 72nd Anniversary of Union Day, ministries’ sports meet was held at training fields in Wunna Theikdi Sports Stadium yesterday morning.

Games like man/ woman pillow fights, running with legs put together in a gunny sack, tug-of-war, toke-see-toe (a traditional team game) and 100, 200 and 400 meter races were held as Union Minister Dr. Myint Htwe and officials cheered the competitors.

After the competitions Union Minister Dr. Myint Htwe, Deputy Minister Dr. Mya Lay Sein, Union Civil Service Board member Dr. U Pwa and officials presented prizes to the winning teams of the competitions and games.

Ministry of Health and Sports had been permitting people to freely conduct sports activities in sports ground to develop the health and strength of people in the country. In addition to this arrangements had been made for public servants from ministries and departments in Nay Pyi Taw to practice sports and conduct exercises in sports grounds and stadiums in Wunna Theikdi Sports Ground for free individually or in group by simply showing their departmental ID cards.

Furthermore, more sports and games competitions with higher and better prizes will be held increasingly according to Ministry of Health and Sports. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
