Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement makes donations to philanthropic cause

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye and Deputy Minister U Soe Aung visited Myat Su Mon Youth Sanctuary at the Dhamma Lingaya Monastery in Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, yesterday and donated offertories to the presiding Sayadaw and other donations for the sanctuary.

The donation included K500,000 in cash, K5.94 million for purchasing rice for the 110 children there, K10.23 million for food and clothing, K360,000 as assistance to the sanctuary keeper, and school uniforms and T-shirts.

Next, the Union Minister and entourage visited the Yedashe Home for the Aged in Yedashe Township, Bago Region, and donated K500,000 in cash, K1,404,000 to purchase rice for the 26 elderly residents there, K2,418,000 for food and clothing, K360,000 to support the in-charge, and longyis, towels and shirts.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and entourage visited Ma Soe Yein Monastery in Thapyaygon, Nay Pyi Taw, and donated offertories, robes and cash for the Sayadaw and monks there. —MNA  (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
