Police members led by Police Inspector Tun Tun Win of Anti-Drug Squad-31 together with witnesses searched the house of U Yin Htwe on Khat-Ta road in extension ward of west Zarthabyin village, Hpa-an Township, Kayin State yesterday morning.
The search led to the discovery of two mitragyna speciosa plants grown behind the house, of which one had a two-inch trunk and nine feet in height and another had a 14-inch trunk with a height of 15 feet. When plucked, the leaves of the two plants were 6.5 kilograms in weight. Then, the authorities touched the two plants.
Afterwards, the authorities continued searching the house, seizing nine stimulant tablets together with related items for inhaling drugs and K 200,000 in his bed room.
Action is being taken against U Tin Yi by the police according to the law.— Min Thu ( Hpa-an)
