The inspection team, led by Commissioners U Kyaw Soe, Dr Than Myint, Dr Myint Thu Myaing and U Tin Aung from the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC), inspected the Myanmar Christian Fellowship of the Blinds, Yangon Education Centre for the Blind (Khawel Chan), Mayangon Township, Yangon Region on 19 December 2023.
The inspection team inspected the Yangon Education Centre for the Blind (Khawel Chan) under the MNHRC Law and procedures whether the students in the School can get fundamental rights, including the status of COVID-19 vaccination and healthcare services, food supply, adequate dormitories, availability of Citizenship Scrutiny Card, provision of purified drinking water, support programme for physical and mental development, as well as the right to education, vocational training and music training, communication with their families and freedom of religion and status of the taking second semester examination.
MNHRC will send recommendations to the relevant department on the findings during the inspection visit. — MNHRC
