UNION Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conser­vation U Hsan Oo in­spected plantations and village firewood plan­tations established by companies in 2025 with­in the Lower Sinthay Forest Reserve in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory yesterday morning.

 

In the afternoon, he attended the online signing ceremony for the Agreement on the Establishment of the International Mangrove Centre (IMC), held at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environ­mental Conservation.

 

The Union minister highlighted the impor­tance of international cooperation in the ef­fective management of mangrove ecosystems. He noted that Myan­mar possesses the sev­enth-largest mangrove area in the world and the third-largest in South- East Asia. He then signed the Agreement on the Establishment of the International Man­grove Centre (IMC). — MNA/MKKS
