MoEA Union Minister meets Thai Minister of Social Development and Human Security

Union Minister U Saw Tun Aung Myint of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs, who is cur­rently in Thailand for the 2nd Ethnic Cultural Exchange Programme, met Mr Chuti Krairiksh, Minister of Social Development and Human Security at 3 pm local time yesterday.

 

They frankly exchanged views pertaining to the enhancement of existing Thai-Myanmar friendly rela­tions, the exchange of ethnic traditional cultures and cus­toms, cooperation between the two ministries to ensure mutual benefits for ethnic peoples and the elevation of the socioeconomic devel­opment of the nations in the Mekong-Lancang region.

 

The meeting was attend­ed by U San Ko, Minister for Ethnic Affairs of the Kayin State government, U Saw Martin Luther, Minister for Ethnic Affairs of the Tanin­thayi Region government, My­anmar Ambassador to Thai­land U Chit Swe and Minister Counsellor U Maw Bala, the director-general and deputy director-general of the Min­istry of Ethnic Affairs. The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Social Develop­ment and Human Security of Thailand, the deputy direc­tor-general and officials were also present.—MNA/TS
