MoEP Union Minister inspects functions of Machinery Division (Hlawga)

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun inspected the operating conditions of the Machin­ery Division (Hlawga) in Mingaladon township yesterday morning.

 

First, officials from the Machinery Division (Hlawga) under the Department of Hydropower Implementation (DHPI) reported on the major maintenance procedures for machinery and vehi­cles used in major projects during the respective financial years. They also provided information about the stock of machinery spares in the ware­house to the Union Minister and his team.

 

In his response to the presentations, the Union minister emphasized that as hydropower projects heavily rely on machinery, it is necessary to carefully prepare the parts to be repaired to be able to utilize these at full capacity. It is also necessary to properly record and keep records of materials obtained, utilization and stock. He also emphasized the arrival of the summer sea­son and stressed the importance of devising fire prevention plans and conducting staged drills. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of holding meetings where staff can openly present their difficulties.

 

Subsequently, the Union minister looked into the maintenance status of the machinery currently in use for major projects, assessed the availability of spare parts, and inspected the condition of staff housings. — MNA/TRKM
