The final match of an invitational volleyball contest was held in conjunction with a prize awarding event at an indoor stadium in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region on 9 October.
The sports competition was held to mark the Shwegu Myodaunt Pagoda festival and organized by the township volleyball sub-committee. The team representing the Ministry of Home Affairs beat the squad representing the Ministry of Defence 3-1 in the final game.
The Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Zaw Min Lwin, regional MP U Maung Maung Aye, Chairman of the Mandalay Region Volleyball Sub-committee U Aung, an official from the Sports and Physical Education Department and the chairman of the township volleyball sub-committee presented prizes, individual awards and champion trophy to the winning teams and players.
The volleyball contest run from 5 to 9 October with eight participating teams and drew attention from volleyball enthusiasts as former national level volleyball players took part in the event.
