Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khaing, along with Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe and senior offi­cials, welcomed Thai tourists visiting Myanmar at the Jas­mine Nay Pyi Taw Hotel yes­terday morning. The occasion was marked by a ceremony to plant commemorative saplings.

 

Afterwards, the Union min­ister met Thai tourists at the ministry’s Jade Hall. During the meeting, the Union minister highlighted efforts to encour­age more Thai tourists to visit Myanmar. She shared details of the ministry’s initiatives, in­cluding the availability of travel information on the ministry’s website and web portal in Thai language, participation in travel fairs in Thailand, and hosting fa­miliarization trips (FAM Trips).

 

The Union minister ex­pressed gratitude to the organ­izers and guests and urged the Thai tourists to share their posi­tive experiences upon returning to Thailand. She also showed a promotional video featuring Myanmar’s tourist destinations.

 

Later in the day, the Union Minister attended the hando­ver ceremony of the flag to en­sure success for the Ministry’s sports team at the 2024 National Sports Festival, where she gave a speech. The ministry’s team received financial support, re­freshments, health supplies, and sports equipment from the Union minister, deputy minister, and other officials.

 

In addition, the deputy min­ister presented the flag to the deputy permanent secretary, and both the Union minister and the deputy minister viewed round the sports equipment and materials provided for the com­petition. — MNA/KZL
