Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khaing, along with Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe and senior officials, welcomed Thai tourists visiting Myanmar at the Jasmine Nay Pyi Taw Hotel yesterday morning. The occasion was marked by a ceremony to plant commemorative saplings.
Afterwards, the Union minister met Thai tourists at the ministry’s Jade Hall. During the meeting, the Union minister highlighted efforts to encourage more Thai tourists to visit Myanmar. She shared details of the ministry’s initiatives, including the availability of travel information on the ministry’s website and web portal in Thai language, participation in travel fairs in Thailand, and hosting familiarization trips (FAM Trips).
The Union minister expressed gratitude to the organizers and guests and urged the Thai tourists to share their positive experiences upon returning to Thailand. She also showed a promotional video featuring Myanmar’s tourist destinations.
Later in the day, the Union Minister attended the handover ceremony of the flag to ensure success for the Ministry’s sports team at the 2024 National Sports Festival, where she gave a speech. The ministry’s team received financial support, refreshments, health supplies, and sports equipment from the Union minister, deputy minister, and other officials.
In addition, the deputy minister presented the flag to the deputy permanent secretary, and both the Union minister and the deputy minister viewed round the sports equipment and materials provided for the competition. — MNA/KZL
