Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the knowledge-sharing seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
First, the Union minister said that AI is used in different fields today, and developed countries have introduced driverless cars, drones and domestic robots. AI technology can provide innovative services to understand emotions and cognition processes in the human community. Therefore, the seminar intends to share the usefulness and risks of AI.
He continued that AI replaces the human workforce, whereas the demand for professionals with expertise in AI is on the rise. Moreover, online search engines, entertainment and trading use AI in this digitalization era. The AI can replace both the physical activities and human intelligence.
Therefore, the Foundation Course for Public Opinion Mining Analysis (AI) was conducted for the officers and staff of the Media Development Department to conduct data analysis on human resource development, misinformation and news flow. A total of 12 trainees sat for the placement test, and eight who passed the test were trained under a three-month online course.
He then urged the staff to promote HR according to the technology trend and apply the knowledge gained at the seminar for the department.
Then, Dr Tin Bhone Kyaw explained AI-related cases, benefits, disadvantages and challenges among others. — MNA/KTZH
