MoI Union Minister receives SEAVFC President

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn received Ms Elvira Yap Go, founder and president of Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children (SEAVFC) in Nay Pyi Taw, yes­terday.

 

During the meeting, the two sides cordially discussed the set-up of SEAVFC, the 4th SEAVFC to be held in Malaysia, coopera­tion work with Myanmar, efforts of the Myanmar government focusing on the youth sector, including enhancement of coop­eration with regional countries, willingness to show off honesty and generosity of Myanmar peo­ple and future collaboration.

 

The SEAVFC has been held three times since 2017, and My­anmar has won awards every competition. In 2017, director Kyaw Hninzi won the profession­al level with the title “May The Fragrance of Thanaka Last” in 2017, while Ma Su Lin Lei won with the short video “Everyday Heroes” (9-12 years old catego­ry) and Ma Su Latt Shwe Yi Zaw with her short video “Smile” (13- 16 years old category) in 2018, and Maung Arkar Min Khant won in 2019 (9-12 years old cat­egory).

 

The meeting was also at­tended by Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, departmen­tal officials, former Philippine Ambassador Minda C Curz and officials of the Philippine Anak TV.

 

At noon, the SEAVFC Pres­ident visited Maravijaya, the world’s tallest sitting marble Buddha image, in the precinct of Buddha Park in Dekkhinathi­ri Township of Nay Pyi Taw. — MNA/KTZH
