DEPUTY Minister for Immigration and Population U Htay Hlaing received Undersecretary (Deputy Minister) Mr Eduardo Jose A De Vega of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The two parties exchanged views on investigation and effective crackdown on online gambling and telecom fraud emerging in Myanmar’s border areas with the collaboration of neighbouring countries and international institutions, recuse operations for foreign nationals who are victims of human trafficking, including the current status of efforts to rescue Filipinos, deportation processes of rescued foreigners to their respective countries, entry and exit of Filipinos to and from Myanmar with various types of visas and further cooperation in immigration processes between the two countries. — MNA/KTZH
