UNION Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thida Oo inspected the Meiktila Township Law Office in Mandalay Region on 20 June to oversee the progress of initiating a new model pilot law office, as well as existing model pilot law offices, including the PyinOoLwin District Law Office and the Chanayethazan Township Law Office.

Following this, she met with regional, district, and township law officers at the hall of the Region Advocate-General’s Office.

During the meeting, she gave instructions, explaining that the establishment of pilot law offices serves as a model initiative to transition office operations — such as registration, recording, and reporting — from manual systems to digital systems. This enables case law officers and officers-in-charge to operate more efficiently using technology and allows Pre-Trial Interviews (PTIs) to be conducted at these pilot law offices. She then inspected the township law offices designated and operated as model pilot law offices. — MNA/TH
