THE Department of Rural Development under the Min­istry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held a tender clarification meet­ing on 27 May for regional development projects to be implemented during the 2026- 2027 financial year at the Mon State Department of Rural Development office.

 

At the ceremony, Chair­man of the Tender Committee and Mon State Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Ir­rigation U Min Myint Maung Lay delivered the opening remarks.

 

Following this, Mon State Director of the Department of Rural Development U Saw Myint Tun explained the ten­der rules and regulations as well as the procedures that participating companies must follow. Attendees also raised questions and dis­cussed matters related to the tender process.

 

According to officials, projects to be implemented during the 2026-2027 financial year with Union government funding, totalling K1,679.95 million, include six rural wa­ter supply projects and nine production road projects.

 

In addition, projects funded by the Mon State government with a total al­location of K2,984.36 million will include 10 rural water supply projects and 20 rural production road, bridge, and village road projects.

 

The Mon State Depart­ment of Rural Development stated that the projects will be implemented within the current financial year through contracts awarded to successful tender-winning companies across townships under the department’s su­pervision. — Maung Khaing (Rural)
