Mone Creek Bridge opens to traffic in Pwintbyu Township

An inauguration ceremony of the Mone Bridge on the Minbu-Salin-Tanyaung Road was held at a temporary pandal near the bridge in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region this morning.

Firstly, Chief Minister of Magway Region Dr. Aung Moe Nyo elaborated on construction of the bridge for convenience of local people in order to use it in all season. The bridge was opened by five outstanding students from Minbu, Pwintbyu and Salin Townships. Next, the regional chief minister, Regional Minister for Construction and Transport U Tin Ngwe Oo and concerned officials sprinkled scented water on a stone inscription of the bridge and planted shady trees near the bridge.

Construction of the reinforced concrete facility began on 221 May 2017 and was built by Bridge Construction Group-5 under the Ministry of Construction. The bridge is 1300 ft. long, 24 ft. wide and has a 3 ft. wide walkway on each side of the bridge. It can withstand up to 60 tons of weight.—Ye Win Naing (NyaungU)
