With the aim to have access to electricity around the nation by 2030, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy is attempting to distribute electricity across the nation. Under NEP (IT-1), the electricity supply projects via solar power are being undertaken in Mongnwe village, Tiddim Township, Chin State and the installation of solar panels was inspected by officials from Tiddim Township Department of Rural Development on January 27.
In the village, there are 91 households and the locals contributed K 50,000 for installation of 60 W and K 150,000 for 100 W. A total of 28 pairs of 60 W and 39 pairs of 100 W were installed in the village. In addition, solar panels were also provided to Basic Education Middle School and three religious buildings. Then, the lamp posts were also set up in the village by Earth Renewable Energy Company.
