The Forest Department of Monywa–Yinmapin District, Sagaing Region, held its 2026 rainy season bamboo planting ceremony at 7:30 am today on the campus of Monywa University.

The ceremony was attended by U Tin Than Win, Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Dr. Than Than Win, Rector of Monywa University, and other officials. They were joined by representatives from district and township-level departments, university teachers, students, and invited guests.

During the event, participants planted a total of 420 bamboo saplings and 300 tamar saplings to promote environmental conservation and increase green coverage.

After the planting ceremony, the Minister, the Rector, and other officials toured the planting site and encouraged the participants for their contributions to environmental protection. The ceremony concluded successfully.— District IPRD
