More than 156700 students attend basic education schools in northern Shan State

As basic education schools for the 2024-2025 Academic year are reopened starting from June 3 in Myanmar, more than 156700 students started their respective classes in 973 Basic Education Schools in Lashio Township of northern Shan State starting from this morning, according to the State Education Branch Office in Lashio.

A total of 156766 students are studying at 973 schools including 87 high schools, 272 Middle Schools and 614 Primary Schools in 12 townships including Lashio, Pansan, Naphan, Tantyan, Maire, Hopan, Muse, Kyaukme, Thipaw, Naungcho, Moemeik and Mabin townships in northern Shan State in this Academic year.

Similarly, first year, second year and third year honors students and Masters’ students are also studying at Lashio University, and chairman of northern Shan State Administration body U Myint Than Win, Rector of Lashio University Dr. Htay Aung and Director of the State Education Branch Office in Lashio U Khin Maung Htay looked round the opening of the schools and gave necessary instructions.—Sai Tun(Lashio)
