More than 200,000 people visit museums from April 2023 to early February 2024

According to Director Dr Aye Aye Thin of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw), there have been 210,300 domestic and foreign visitors to the museums un­der the Department of Archaeology and National Museum from April 2023 to early February 2024.

 

There are 32 museums under the Depart­ment of Archaeology and National Museum in Myanmar, with visitors primarily flocking to National Museums in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon, the Archaeological Museum (Bagan), and the Cultural Museum (Mandalay).

 

The Department of Archaeology and Nation­al Museum is working on upgrading museums to become digital museums, aiming to facilitate viewing and learning for both local and foreign visitors.

 

Museums across Myanmar are open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, except on Mondays and public holidays. — ASH /MKKS
