Attracted by a new destination, many people flocked to Mount Mongshu to enjoy the breathtaking cloud sea on the mountain, said Ma Nan Hmwe Nwun, developer of this destination.
She initiated the journey to Mount Mongshu in 2021, and it became famous this year. The cloud Sea, within a 45-minute drive from Mongshu, is located on the ascent road of the mountain, just below the Ancestors’ Climbing Path Pagoda (PNO). Since October, many visitors from Lashio, Kyaukme, Mandalay and Yangon regions have flocked to this destination.
“Every morning, about 50 to 60 people come to enjoy the cloud sea. Some even stay overnight stays to see it. Most of them are young people,” she said.
The best time to see the most beautiful scene of the cloud sea is from sunrise, around 6:00 am to around 10:00 am. There are designated photo spots for enthusiasts, and the entrance fee is K4,000.
“Clouds can be enjoyed from October to February. But the area is packed with clouds until January, and they decrease around February,” she added.
Overnight visitors can stay at bungalows, which cost K40,000, K60,000 and K80,000 for double, triple and quadruple rooms, respectively. — MT/ZN
