The Department of Agriculture targets to grow 1,500 acres of edible oil crops, mostly the sunflower in 2024-2025 FY in Mudon Township of Mon State.
In order to be able to meet the target, farmers will be provided with necessary assistance including knowledge on agricultural techniques such as good quality seeds, systematic ways of planting and prevention of pest infestation by relevant officials, according to an official from the Township Department of Agriculture.
The sunflower crops will be grown in Tapaton, Blauknyaungwine, Htaungke, Phedo, Kadonpaw, Kawpayan, Kawkhapon and Kwanta villages in the Township and necessary assistance will also be provided to farmers in the Township, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.—Aung Myo Thu(IPRD)
