Murderers caught within few hours in Htigyaing

A man was stabbed to death by his colleagues after quarreling with them over betting on a cockfight. The incident took place in Ward-2, Htigyaing Township, Sagaing Region at around 8 p.m. on 22 July.

Upon receiving information about the murder, a police squad from Myoma Police Station led by Police Inspector Htay Win together with eye witnesses rushed to the scene of crime. The murder victim identified as Phyo Wai Maung has drunk alcohol with two brothers namely Aung Kyaw Thu and Hein Htet Aung and quarreled with them over two roosters.

The two brothers stabbed the murder victim by using a knife measuring 12 inches and the later was pronounced dead on the spot. Action is being taken against the murderers over the case by the local police.—Lu Aung (Katha)
