THE Myanma Economic Bank branch in Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, which was temporarily closed, resumed banking services at 9 am yesterday, as the region has been stabilized.
With the reopening, the branch will be able to pay salaries to departmental staff and local Tatmadaw members serving in Thabeikkyin Township, pensions to retired staff members, accept savings, transfer money to various regions and provide other banking services, according to Manager U Ye Naing of the Myanma Economic Bank in Thabeikkyin Township.
The opening ceremony was attended by U Naing Aye, Chairman of Thabeikkyin District Administration and Governance Committee, District Police Force Commander Police Lt-Col Khin Maung Win, and Thabeikkyin Township Myanma Economic Bank Manager U Ye Naing, who cut the ceremonial ribbon and sprinkled incense, while district and township-level departments attended. — Township IPRD/MKKS
