THE Myanmar national futsal team will go up against ASE-AN futsal powerhouse Thailand in the group stage of the ASE-AN Football Federation Futsal Championship 2019, which is scheduled to be held from 21 to 27 October in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.
The drawing ceremo-ny for the championship was held at the Pavilion Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 16 July.
For the group stage, Myan-mar has been placed in Group A with ASEAN futsal giant and defending champion Thailand, East Timor, and Cambodia.
Meanwhile, Viet Nam is in Group B with Malaysia, Indone-sia, and Australia.
The Myanmar futsal team has had a good record in the AFF Futsal Championship in the previous years.
Myanmar won the silver medal in the 2016 champion-ship and bronze medals in 2018 and 2006.
Unfortunately, Myan-mar team failed in the group stage of 2018 AFF Futsal Championship, which was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. —Lynn Thit (Tgi)
