The draws for the AFC U 16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers (East Zone) and AFC U19 Championship 2020 Qualifiers (East Zone) were announced on 19 June, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.
According to the draw, Myanmar U-16 men’s football team is pooled in Group K together with South Korea, Thailand and Chinese Taipei. The team is scheduled to play against Thailand on 10 September, clash with South Korea on 20 September and compete with Chinese Taipei on 22 September at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
Myanmar will host the AFC U19 Championship 2020 Qualifiers (East Zone) in November this year. The Myanmar U19 women’s football squad is in the Group I together with South Korea, China and Singapore. The squad will battle against China on 6 November, face off South Korea on 8 November and vie with Singapore at the same venue. Both Myanmar U-16 and U-19 women team’s matches will be held at 6 p.m.
The participating teams were drawn into eleven groups in both contests. The eleven group winners and the four best runners-up from both competitions will qualify for the final tournaments.—By Kyaw Htike Soe
