Myanmar, Indian Armed Forces to forge friendly ties, further cooperation

Vice-Chairman of the State Adminis­tration Council Deputy Command­er-in-Chief of Defence Services Com­mander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received a delegation led by Lt-Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, the General Officer Commanding III Corps of the Indian Armed Forces at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

 

They cordially discussed friendly rela­tions between Myanmar and India and the two armed forces and promotion of further cooperation, and plans to cooperate in peace and stability, security and development at the border regions between the two countries.

 

 

Also present at the meeting were Com­mander of North-West Command Maj-Gen Than Htaik and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The General Officer Commanding III Corps of the Indian Armed Forces was accompanied by Indian Defence Attaché Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill and officials. — MNA/TTA
