Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee Mr Bounleuam Manivong paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, who was currently in Luang Prabang during his State Visit to Lao PDR, at the hotel where the Pres­ident stayed, yesterday morning.

 

The meeting was also attended by Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the spouse of the Pres­ident, and party. The Secre­tary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Commit­tee was accompanied by his wife and officials from the Luang Prabang Provincial Government.

 

At the meeting, they cordially discussed the po­tentials for further strength­ening friendly relations between the two countries through the State Visit of the Myanmar President and his spouse, strategic partner­ship cooperation between Myanmar and Laos, being sister cities between Luang Prabang City of Laos and Bagan City of Myanmar, the prospects of benefiting the tourism industry and in­tersection between Luang Prabang and Myanmar’s Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan and Kengtung, and further promotion of friendly ties and multiple sectors be­tween the two countries.

 

The President of Myan­mar and his spouse attend­ed Laos’ traditional Baci festival. The President and the Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee ignited the aus­picious oil light and prayed in Lao tradition. The Secre­tary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee and his wife, and members of the Luang Prabang Pro­vincial government tied the hands of the President, his spouse and Myanmar del­egation members with Sai Sin.

 

The President and his spouse attended a lunch­eon hosted by the Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee and his wife. The Party Secretary extended greetings while the President expressed thanks.
