Myanmar participates in 20th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Sci­ence and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw on 5 June left for Cambodia to attend the 20th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation (AMMSTI-20) to be held on 6 and 7 June in Siem Reap of Cambodia.

 

On 6 June, the Union Min­ister met with Dr Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Cambodia, and discussed co­operation in the science, tech­nology and innovation sectors of the two countries.

 

In the evening, Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw attended the dinner hosted by the Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and In­novation of Cambodia.

 

On 7 June, the Union min­ister attended the meeting with Cambodian Prime Min­ister Mr Hun Manet at Sofitel Angkor Resort together with the ASEAN Ministers and openly discussed the regional cooperation in science, tech­nology and innovation sectors.

 

Cambodian Minister for Industry, Science, Technolo­gy and Innovation Dr Hem Vanndy delivered a greeting speech at the 20th AMMSTI and ASEAN-Secretary Gen­eral Dr Kao Kim Hourn re­marked. Cambodian Prime Minister Mr Hun Manet then made an opening speech.

During the meeting, the Union minister participated in the discussion under the “AI Application Navigating the Future” theme, as well as on­going and future cooperation.

 

During the visit, the Un­ion minister and delegation visited Angkor Wat Temple. Director-General Dr Phyu Phyu Win attended the BAC- 16 and COSTI-85 and other related meetings. — MNA/ KTZH
