MYANMAR sent over 529,000 tonnes of rice and broken rice to for­eign countries by sea in the first quarter Q1 of the current financial year 2026-2027, beginning 1 April, bagging US$167 million, according to the Myanmar Rice Federa­tion (MRF).

 

Myanmar’s rice ex­port volume is registered at 169,559 tonnes worth $51 million in April, 136,262 tonnes valued at $42 million in May and 223,714 tonnes, earning $74 million in June.

 

Myanmar’s rice ex­ports in the financial year 2025-2026 exceeded 2.7 million tonnes, bagging $861 million, MRF’s data showed. Myanmar gener­ated income of over $1.129 billion from 2.48 million tonnes of rice and broken rice exports in the finan­cial year 2024-2025.

 

Ministry of Com­merce is working togeth­er with the the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Indus­try, the Myanmar Rice Federation, the Myanmar Pulses, Beans, Maize and Sesame Seeds Merchants Association, the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, the Myanmar Industries Association, the Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association, and the My­anmar Fisheries Products Processors and Export­ers Association to meet monthly export targets and facilitate exports. — NN/KK
