Myanmar, Russia foster further cementing diplomatic relations, friendly ties, cooperation

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Feder­ation talked about further strength­ening of friendly relations and coop­eration as both countries have been cementing diplomatic relations for many years.

 

Chairman of the State Adminis­tration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Andrey Rudenko of the Russian Federation at the Creden­tials Hall of the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

 

They cordially discussed cooper­ation in peacefully applying nuclear technology, and collaborative efforts in generating hydropower and pro­ducing electricity from solar energy.

 

They also exchanged views on exchange of goodwill visits between State leaders and high-ranking of­ficers of both countries, running of flights for promotion of tourism and trade sectors between the two coun­tries, cooperation in improvement of social and education sectors, plans to supply sufficient volume of fertilizer to Myanmar, and further cooperation in bilateral relations.

 

Also present at the meeting were Council Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Lwin Oo and offi­cials. The Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Russian Ambassador to Myan­mar Mr Iskander Azizov and officials. — MNA/TTA
