Myanmar team win gold medal in Cambodian Chess trio tourney

The Myanmar Chess Team won the gold medal in the Cambodian Chess Out Chaktrang Trio Tournament held as a prelude to the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA Games).

 

Win Zaw Tun, Nay Oo Kyaw Tun, and Nyein Chan represent­ing Myanmar won gold with a score of 11.5 points in the trio chess competition being held at the Royal University in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The silver medal was won by the Thai team with 11 points while the bronze was won by the Cambodian team with nine points.

 

In the four-player chess tournament, the Myanmar team won the bronze medal as well. The chess tournament will be held from 6 to 13 January in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

 

The Cambodian traditional chess game (Out Chaktrang) will be included in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) to be hosted by Cambodia. — Bala Soe/KZL
