May 04

A Tatmadaw (Air) delegation led by Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung paid a friendship visit to Thailand on 30 April to promote friendship and cooperation between the air forces of Myanmar and Thailand at the invitation of Thai Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul.

On 1 May, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) was welcomed by the guard of honour and took a salute. Then, he placed the memorial wreath in front of the statue of Field Marshal Prince Chakrabongse, who first established Thai Air Forces and signed in the guest book. He also met Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul and exchanged the memorial gifts of two air forces.

In the conference room, the two parties discussed the enhancement of cooperation between the two air forces. The Commander-in-Chief (Air) then proceeded to Air War College and met with the Commandant. An official of the college explained the history of the college, its formation, missions, curriculum, teaching methods, discussions, academic talks, and trainee qualification for local and foreign trips. He also observed the Practice Negotiating for National Security and visited the Sea Life Paragon Department Store.

On 2 May, the Myanmar delegation visited Wat Traimit Wittayaram Worawihan, Wat Arun, Wat Pho and the Royal Barge Museum.
