Myanmar women’s team beat China Women Youth Selection Team 1-0 in friendly match

THE  Myanmar  women’s  national  football  team  prevailed  over  the  China  Women  Youth  Selection  Team  in  their  final  friendly  match,  held  yesterday  in  Suzhou,  Jiangsu  Province,  China. Myanmar won the match by one goal.


The friendly match was part of  team  Myanmar’s  preparations  for  the  women’s  football  tournament  of  the  2019  South  East  Asian  Games  in  the  Philippines.


The friendly match was the third and last friendly match for team  Myanmar  in  China  this  month. Myanmar used veteran and youth players for the match.


Myanmar  made  substitutions with goalkeeper Thandar Oo, Khin Than Oo, Chit Chit, Aye Aye Moe, Khaing Thazin, Khin Marlar Tun, Thin Thin Yu, May Thu Kyaw, Ye Ye Oo, Khin Moe Wai, and Win Theingi Tun during the game.


The first half of the friendly match  ended  with  a  scoreless  result  as  both  teams  failed  to  convert their chances into goals.


The  first  and  winning  goal  for team Myanmar was scored by  youth  striker  Nu  Nu  at  66  minutes.


In the later minutes, there were  no  more  goals  by  either  team,  and  at  the  final  whistle,  team Myanmar was leading by one goal, and the match ended with a 1-0 win for Myanmar.


Team  Myanmar  will  leave  Suzhou on 15 October.


Head  coach  U  Win  Thu  Moe  will  select  the  final  list  of  20 players for the upcoming SEA Games during a training session in Yangon after the team arrives back from China.


Team  Myanmar  has  been  placed in Group A of the women’s  football  event  of  the  SEA  Games with host Philippines and Malaysia.
