The Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has announced that Myanmar labourers must pay a six-month income tax from October 2023 to March 2024 at the rate of two per cent.

The statement highlights that the income tax payment by Myanmar citizens residing abroad contributes to education, health, transport, and other public services for citizens at home.

Additionally, the statement mentions that taxpayers can enjoy tax relief when purchasing houses, land, apartments, and vehicles at home by presenting the certificate of income tax payment.
