Myanmars Lethwei event to be held in Tokyo next month

THE Lethwei In Japan 14 tournament will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on 2 October, showcasing the glory of Myanmar Traditional Lethwei in Japan, and will strengthen the friendship between the two countries, according to the International Lethwei Federation of Japan (ILJF).

The lethwei event is the 14th lethwei contest to be held in Tokyo, Japan according to organisers.

There will be five bouts scheduled in different weight classes, featuring Myanma Lethwei fighters versus Japanese and other foreign martial artists, using the fighting style of Myanma traditional lethwei, including various clinching techniques.

In the mens 58 Kg weight class, Ryo Narushima (Japan) will compete against Kazuharu (Japan).

In mens 61.5 Kg weight class, Saw Mu Htaw Gae (Myanmar) will fight Pilao Santana (Netherlands).

In mens 64.5 kg weight class, Htet Aung Oo (Myanmar) will be matched against Higashi (Japan), and in the mens 75 Kg, Aung Khine (Myanmar) will fight Tokeshi (Japan).

In the womens 66 kg class, Julija Stoliarenko (Lithuania) will be matched against Yuiga (Japan). Tickets are priced from 4,000 to 10,000 yen, based upon seat locations.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
