MYAWADY secured their first win of the 2026-2027 Myanmar Women’s League season with a 1-0 victory over Yadanabon in Matchweek 4 at Padonma Stadium on 7 July.

Yadanabon, featuring Myanmar national team striker Win Theingi Tun and three Philippine players alongside local youngsters, suffered an unexpected defeat. Myawady, three-time champions of the league, had lost their opening three matches of the season but finally ended their losing streak with a late goal.

Although Yadanabon controlled much of the match and created several attacking opportunities, they failed to finish their chances. Myawady’s Mya Hnin Wai scored the decisive goal in 78 minutes to give her team a 1-0 win.

Mya Hnin Wai was named the AYA Pay Player of the Match and received a trophy along with K500,000 in prize money.

The final day of Matchweek 4 will be held on 8 July, with Thitsa Arman facing Yangon City at YUSC Stadium and Zwegabin United meeting Ayeyawady at Thuwunna Stadium. — Ko Nyi Lay/ KZL
