THE Department of Small-Scale Industries under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held the opening ceremony of a livelihood-support consumer goods production technology training course at Shweset AG Church in Myitkyina yesterday.
U Aung Tin Soe, head of the Bhamo District Department of Small-Scale Industries delivered the opening remarks, saying that by attending such small-scale industry training courses, trainees would be able to establish and operate small businesses at their homes, and that the income earned from such activities could create new sources of income for their families. He added that the livelihood-support consumer goods production technology training course was opened with such an objective.
Instructors also explained the lessons to be taught during the training, including methods of producing dishwashing liquid, hand soap, laundry detergent, multi-purpose cleaner, body wash, fabric softener, various facial soap bars, Fuji soap cream, shampoo, scrub, natural shampoo and natural body wash.
A total of 20 trainees who are temporarily displaced persons currently taking shelter in Myitkyina Township are attending the training. Skilled instructors will provide both theoretical and practical training on consumer goods production technologies from 15 to 19 June, for five days, until trainees can establish their own businesses. — Karan (Rural)
