Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards have seized a large consignment of narcotics worth approximately 215 million U.S. dollars in a joint counter-narcotics operation near the southwestern coastal city of Gwadar, the Navy said on Monday.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Navy, the intelligence-based operation was conducted near Pishukan along the Gwadar coastline in coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre.

"During the operation, authorities confiscated 1,500 kg of hashish and 500 kg of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice," said the navy, adding that the narcotics' shipment was being transported through the Arabian Sea to international destinations.

The navy reaffirmed its commitment to preventing the use of Pakistan's maritime domain for illicit activities and ensuring maritime security in the region.
