Natmauk Township in Magway Region plans to cultivate 24,999 acres of rain-fed paddy during the 2026–2027 fiscal year, according to an official from the Township Agriculture Department.

Rain-fed paddy in Natmauk Township is grown using water supplied by small dams and government irrigation reservoirs. To achieve the target yield of 100 baskets per acre, the Township Agriculture Department is promoting the use of high-quality seeds, proper planting techniques, balanced application of agricultural inputs, and effective crop management practices. A total of 3,145 acres have already been cultivated using the frame planting system.

Officials from the Township Agriculture Department are also conducting field extension activities by visiting villages and meeting with farmers to promote scientific farming practices, the balanced use of natural fertilizers and pesticides, and the increased adoption of natural pest control methods.— Hla Win
