PYITHU Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi receives more than 400 teachers and students from Naypyitaw State Academy, led by Rec­tor Dr Nu Nu Lwin, after they observed the 15th-day meeting of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw’s Second Regular Session.

 

During the meeting, the Speaker welcomed the visitors and explained the role of Hluttaw, its leg­islative responsibilities, the structure of the Py­ithu Hluttaw and Amyo­tha Hluttaw, role of Hlut­taw representatives who serve as bridge between the government and its people in accordance with the motto “The People’s Voice, the Hluttaw’s Voice; the People’s Will, the Hlut­taw’s Will; the People’s Ex­pectations, implemented by the Hluttaw,” and the importance of cooperation among the legislative, exec­utive and judicial pillars for the national development.

 

Rector Dr Nu Nu Lwin presented gifts to the Py­ithu Hluttaw Speaker and Deputy Speaker, and the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker gave the commemorative gifts in return.

 

The students also raised questions regarding the role of Pyithu Hluttaw, the voting system, the steps of legislation, the education sector, and the Speaker re­plied to them.

 

After the meeting, the Speaker and party cordially met the Rector, lecturers and students of Naypyitaw State Academy. — MNA/ KTZH
