New facility under construction in precinct of Jivitadana Sangha Hospital in Myeik

A new structure capable of accommodating 100 beds is being built in the compound of Jivitadana Sangha Hospital in Myeik, Taninthayi Region under the aegis of the Sitagu Sayadaw.

The two-storey is of reinforced concrete facility and measures 114 ft. in length and 45 ft. in width. It is being built with the aim of offering better healthcare services to the monks, nuns and patient suffering from eye diseases. Six well-wishers donated over Ks. 300 million to build the facility, said U Myo Tun, one of the benefactors. In addition a hostel for the members of Sangha is being renovated at a cost of Ks. 30 million donated by Phoe La Min Company.

The cash contribution ceremony, the first of its kind, for construction of the structure was held at a monastery in Myeik on 28 July. During the event, concerned officials accepted more than Ks. 170 million and presented certificates of honour to the donors.—Khaing Htoo (IPRD)
