No casualties reported in filling station fire in Phayagyi

No casualties were reported after a fire broke out at a filling station in Phayagyi Town, Bago Region on 19 August, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.

The fire is attributed to have started from a tanker while gasoline were being transferred from the tanker to an underground tank in the compound of a filling station named “Aung Thabyay” near Yangon-Mandalay old road in Ward-2, Phayagyi at about 9:45 p.m. on 19 August. The fire engulefe 1600 gallons of gasoline and the tanker was badly damaged.

The estimated loss of property due to the fire is still unknown and an action is being taken against the tanker driver over fire negligence by the local police station.—MOHA
